Music Licensing Collective Nomination

According to the Music Modernization Act that was recently unanimously passed by Congress and signed into law, there is a new Music Licensing Collective being created.

Nominations are currently open for the songwriter members of this Collective, and are being considered by the Songwriter MLC Selection Committee consisting of: Steve Bogard (NSAI), Lynn Gillespie Chater (SGA), Dallas Davidson (BMI), Chris DeStefano (NSAI), Bob DiPero (BMI), Dan Foliart (ASCAP), Adam Gorgoni (SONA), Michele Lewis (SONA) and Paul Williams (ASCAP).

  • Hands on licensing experience as self publisher, and publisher of other writers

  • As venue owner, created proprietary in house direct licensing system for venue and operated as such for one year, sending direct payments to writers and publishers including: Sony, Curb, Downtown Music Publishing, Major Bob Music

  • Regarded as non-attorney copyright expert by United States Patent and Trademark Office [see detail below]

  • Contracted by United States Department of State to help establish first Arts Envoy IPR program, named official Arts Envoy IP Diplomat by US State Department 2018

Amanda Colleen Williams is an RIAA multi-platinum awarded, Grammy nominated song co-writer, a magna cum laude graduate of Music Business from Berklee College of Music, and is daughter of Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame Member Kim Williams.

Amanda founded her innovative enhanced music publishing company Hillbilly Culture LLC in 2010, and has since founded Songpreneurs LLC, an online educational resource for songwriter entrepreneurs. Williams was voted 2017 Artist of the Year by the Nashville Industry Music Association, an organization recognizing independent musicians, and is regularly called upon as a speaker and non-attorney copyright expert.
