Let’s face it… it’s easy to get discouraged as a songwriter in this day and age.
There are so many things that make songwriting tough: the learning curve, the rejection, the challenge getting paid.
All these things add up, and sometimes seem too much to bear.
How do we continue on those days? What makes us keep going?
A wise man once said ignorance is bliss. And when it comes to professional songwriting, there has never been a truer statement.
Sometimes getting into the pro songwriting circles can be a blessing and a curse, because you start learning what you didn’t know, and probably never really wanted to know in the first place.
But there is a reward to all this work.
Songwriting is about being able to take a feeling, and put it in words so that others can not only understand what you’re trying to say, but they can actually feel it, too.
Are your songs good enough to move people to laugh or cry or dance?
Or are you still learning the craft and the ropes?
Either way, don’t give up.
Songwriting is an important thing.
Who among us hasn’t been saved by a song at some point in our lives?
Maybe, just maybe, your song can save someone someday.
So go ahead and get frustrated. Get sad, get mad, and get it out in the form of a song.
Somebody out there somewhere is waiting to hear the song that only you can write.
So get busy.
And if you need some help getting that pen working, give us a shout. We’re here to help.
