In a recent flurry of press releases, it has been reported that Broken Bow Records family including their publishing company Magic Mustang Music (which owns one of my two year songwriter catalogs) was sold to BMG.
What will this mean for Jason Aldean and the others currently signed to BBR Label Groups?
In the short term, nothing different says BMG President Zach Katz as per a Country Aircheck interview with Chuck Aly.
However, since BMG is distributed by Warner backed ADA, and BBR is currently distributed by competitor Sony/RED, there could be changes coming a little further down the road.
We shall see.
