Healing Christmas Songs

Music can bring a special kind of comfort to people who find themselves in unwanted situations, suffering and in pain over the holidays.

These two featured songs speak to the healing power of music: Shannon Morgan's original "If I Can Just Get Through This Christmas Night" and Amanda Colleen Williams' cover version of Joni Mitchell's classic "River."

Shannon Morgan of Canada is active in local PTSD recovery groups in her area, and has been working toward her sustainable career in the new music business with Songpreneurs this year.

Amanda Colleen Williams is Songpreneurs founder, and leads our group's educational trainings through her experience earned, academically proven proprietary curriculum in creative entrepreneurship in the new music business.  She's also an awarded independent artist and multiplatinum certified songwriter / music publisher.

Best thing you have learned from working with Songpreneurs?

How to be successful as an independent artist

Something you would not have done if you hadn't been working with Songpreneurs?

I would not have put out my Christmas single. I have been talking about it for years. Being part of the community helped turn it into a priority vs another year going by. Also, I analyze songs all the time, but the 7 steps Amanda has shown us, steps it up a few notches and really helps keep an open mind about songs.

Anything else you want to tell us?

I love being part of this group because Amanda is so knowledgeable about the business. She holds us accountable and on track. If you fail it is because you didn’t put in the work. Nobody wants their cake to fall flat because they didn’t follow directions.
